Hair-Raising Potion is a potion that erects the hair on end, causing it to rise and stand straight up.
Ingredients
- 2 Dried Billywig Stings
- 2 measures Eel Eyes
- 3 Flabberghasted Leeches
- 4 Rat Tails
- 1 Whole Porcupine Quill
- 1 cup Standard Potioning Water
Brewing Instructions
Part 1
- Add the water to the cauldron
- Grind the Billywig stings into a fine powder then add to the cauldron.
- Mash the eel eyes into a sticky paste then add to the cauldron.
- Slowly add 2 rat tails into the cauldron.
- Heat the mixture on high for 10 minutes.
- Slowly add 2 rat tails into the cauldron.
- Add 1 porcupine quill to the cauldron.
- Reduce to a low heat, cover, and leave to brew for 30 minutes.

Part 2
- Uncover and increase to a high heat.
- Mash the Flabberghasted Leeches and pour them and their juices into the cauldron.
- Stir 3 times, counterclockwise until green in colour.
Dangers
Careful handling of Billywig stings is recommended as accidental pricks from even a dried Billywig sting can give a feeling of uneasiness and typically induce feelings of dizziness.
Mashing eel eyes too quickly can cause a slight electric shock and leave the fingers with a numbing tingle for several minutes.
Normally porcupine quills will react violently when added to a cauldron on the fire however the particular combination of ingredients for this potion will instead result in this volatility being transferred to the hair of the drinker, facilitating its rise.
There is NOTHING in this potion that will cause it to explode, create a toxic fume, or create a foul order, or any other dangers that are NOT listed on this page.
Effects
When drank, it causes the drinker's hair to stand straight up.
